Devlog #8: Factions

Your reputation with each faction is earned through actions, not transactions. Every shift carries weight—political, moral, or personal.

  • +1 → alliance honored, mercy granted
  • −1 → trust broken, vow ignored
  • −2 → betrayal, violence against faction

Factions remember. Even small slights compound over time.

⚖️ UGSA — The Core Worlds

Bureaucratic, expansive, endlessly documented. They value stability above all, even when it costs humanity. Work with them and you gain structure. Cross them and the paperwork alone becomes a weapon.

🏢 The Consortium — The Kessrin Lords

A corporate empire wrapped in polished steel. They trade in tech, influence, and opportunities that never come without invisible clauses. They don’t wage war — they buy it.

🔥 The Ember Pact — The Rebellion of the Reach

Ex-UGSA rebels fueled by hope and grit. Their settlements burn with passion, scarcity, and impossible dreams. Help them and you gain loyalty. Fail them and you feel their disappointment in the hull.

⚔️ Proxima — The Forged Sword

A militarized world that trusts only its own discipline. Peace, to them, is a temporary cease-fire between storms. Honor matters. Memory matters more.

💰 The Ouro Authority

The velvet bureaucracy of the Belt. Surveillance softened by neon lights, customs enforced by bribes, and laws rewritten hourly depending who’s watching. They are slow to punish — and slow to forget.

✨ The Dawning Church

A transhumanist sect devoted to digital ascension. They collect minds the way others collect relics. Devotion pays well. Apostasy has a cost.

👁️ The Watchers

Not a government. Not a faction. A presence. They observe from the spaces between stars, cataloguing every choice, every failure, every mercy. Their purposes remain unknown.

☠️ The Iron Tide

Once pirates, now drones of Nullface. The Kestral core lives in their flagship serving those who embrace digital hunger and neural surrender. They do not raid. They convert.
