Devlog #3: Items and Trading
The Greywake » Devlog

Marketplaces and independent traders are where the galaxy's goods change hands—ship components, medical supplies, data chips, survival gear, and almost anything else the Greywake might need.
In Greywake items are used narratively. Equipping or unequipping items to yourself or a crew member will trigger a narrative response. If you give the Engineer a ship component, he will begin installing it. If you give an encrypted data crystal to ARIA she may ask if you want it decrypted.
Common Item Types
- Weapons & Ammunition (ranged, melee, ammo)
- Armor (light/medium/heavy)
- Field Equipment (scanners, breach kits, combat medkits)
- Utility Gear (mag-boots, enviro-suits, grapple launchers)
- Ship Systems (propulsion, shields, weapons, sensors, cargo, medbay)
- Augments (neural, physical, utility, holoemitters)
- Data Chips (tactical, cultural, personnel files)
- Medical Supplies (trauma, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, surgical)
- Tools (welders, cutters, repair equipment)
- Food/Consumables (protein bars, synth-meat, supplies)
